Five Second Rule

I'd still sip it up.

Earlier, our Brain Buster revealed that 60% of Americans eat food off the floor. If you subscribe to the Five Second Rule, any food picked up within 5 seconds of dropping is fair game.

Unfortunately for those of us that truly believe in the sanctity of these 5 seconds, scientists got involved. Don't you hate that??

Apparently, several factors determine whether or not the 5 second rule works. Factors such as food texture, floor surface, moisture and time all affect whether or not the food is safe.

For example, if you drop an M&M on a dry tile kitchen floor for 5 seconds, you're probably good. Now, if you let a piece of bologna fall onto your nasty hair-covered bathroom carpet, you might want to throw it away.

Good to know money is spent on important research like this.

Note: As always, the 5 second rule is extended to 4 hours when beer is involved.

We just got word that The Fray cancelled their July 16th show at Journal Pavilion. The official press release states "scheduling conflicts" as the reason for cancellation. Needless to say, big fat bummer.

As of now, there are no plans to reschedule. If you bought tickets, refunds are available at point of purchase.
